Over 200 women, from throughout the Diocese, came together on Saturday December 7, 2024 for the annual Rhode Island Catholic Women's Conference held at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul. The day began with Mass, celebrated by His Excellency, Most Reverend Thomas J. Tobin.
Author, syndicated Catholic talk show host, and motivational speaker, Teresa Tomeo presented two informative, uplifting talks reflecting on the theme of the day "Mary kept all these things, pondering them in her heart" (Luke 2:19). Dr. Holly Taylor Coolman, Assistant Professor of Theology at Providence College, also gave an inspiring talk "Pondering with Our Lady: A Deeper Look". Liz Cotrupi-Pfunder, a local Catholic musician, shared her musical talents as she led the group in songs and prayer.
Participants enjoyed visiting the twelve vendors who were selling various Catholic goods, such as handmade rosaries, chapel veils, original sacred art, candles, books, and so much more. A catered coffee an' and delicious buffet lunch were enjoyed by all. Six women from around the Diocese served as volunteers on the Planning Committee. They began meeting in January. Their hard work and prayers paid off as the participants were overwhelmingly positive about the Spirit-filled day.
